![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Breaking up all of the action is a flashback to a meeting between the United Nations of the Universe led by J-Son, King of Spartax and father of Star-Lord. But with the Badoon attacking London, the good guys now have an important goal with a consequence if they fail. The first issue was weak to me because Iron Man, the Guardians, and the Badoon all just happened to cross paths while flying through the universe - what a coincidence! - and started a fight that I had little reason to care about. A bulk of this issue is dedicated to watching the Guardians go to town on the Badoon attacking London, which sort of makes this issue feel the same as #1 but on Earth. Rocket Raccoon is the character we’re all worried about making a successful transition from page to screen when the Guardians of the Galaxy movie comes out, but if the movie version is half as entertaining as Bendis’ then everything will turn out aces. His new catchphrase - “Blam! Murdered you.” - got exponentially funnier every time he said it, and then I found myself saying it after winning a match in Injustice or finishing a slice of pizza. I love comics that make me laugh and boy does that little guy bring the funny. Right off the bat, the immediate number one reason to buy this comic book is Rocket Raccoon. ![]()
